BP4 Comparing and contrasting Cotton Candy and Little Cog-burt

Image result for cubaLittle Cog-burt and Cotton Candy were similar in the mothers in the stories.  The mother in Little Cog-burt in her eyes loved her kids so much that she sent them off to boarding school.  Maria's mother in Cotton Candy in her view loved Maria so much that she wouldn't let her leave her.  Both of the mothers though they were doing the right things for their kids and that it was because they loved them.
In reality both of the mothers really didn't love their kids enough.  You have to love your kids enough to let them go and live their own lives and find love.  Maria's mother kept her with her until the day she died.  She didn't let her meet a man or date or anything that was out of her control.  She thought she was protecting her, but she really just didn't let her have a life and made it so she never found the happiness she was looking for.
The english mother in Little Cog-burt though she loved her kids enough to send them off to boarding school, far far away from her to get a good education.  They may have been getting a good education but being that young you still need the care and guidance of your parents to help guide you through life.  She let go of her kids too early and gave up raising her kids when they were still young.  Which is the opposite of what Maria's mom did, but both of the parents thought they knew what was best for the kids and made the decisions for their lives.  She gave up raising her kids too early instead of never giving up.  Both messages show that raising your kids the right was is very important in their lives, and their is more than one wrong way to do it.  The parents need to be in the middle of very distant(physically and emotionally) and very controlling of their kids lives.
